Parenting Without Sexual Shame

Join Erica Smith, M.Ed, a sexuality educator and creator of the Purity Culture Dropout® Program, as she addresses parents who want to raise their kids without sexual shame, fear, and misinformation. If you were raised with the message that sex was shameful or sinful and don't want to replicate that experience for your own family, this class is for you. Prospective parents and anyone who cares for children are also welcome.

Erica has worked with youth for 20 years and is an expert in how to effectively and compassionately teach sex ed to young people. In this class, she addresses: What is comprehensive sex ed and why it matters, getting clear about your values, age appropriate information: when to start and what to say at each stage of development, addressing tough topics (like porn literacy), how to best answer questions of kids at any age (with examples), building a culture of consent, battling your own sexual shame/triggers, helpful resources for parents, and more.
